At last, I have finished the armoire/dresser and managed to get some pics taken today. I toyed with the idea of painting some roses on the cabinet doors, but went for some toile fabric to line the top instead. This is the first piece of furniture painted in the Designers Guild paint and I’m pleased with the results.
I have also finished a light oak dining set. The chairs were painted a while back, but I needed to paint the table legs and had to wait a few days to engage the services of my hubby to help me lift it outside to paint. I used Annie Sloan’s ‘Old Ochre’; it’s one of my favourites for kitchen/dining furniture. The chairs have been re-upholstered in Old Gold velvet. I remember my parents having a sofa in a similar colour some years ago, and here we are, the colour is back in fashion again.
The last few weeks have been very busy and I’m pleased to say that my furniture is selling well. I now need to build my stocks back up a little and have some very nice projects in the pipeline. I’ve yet to paint an item in the Designers Guild ‘Duck Egg’ and have a writing bureau lined up for it.
